Melanie Manchot at Baltic 39
We’re excited to see that Melanie, who was kind enough to be one of our judges, will be opening her show ‘tracer’ at Baltic 39 in Newcastle. The work ‘follows a group of parkourists shadowing the course of the Great North Run across the seasons. In long, panning shots the camera observes land- and cityscapes, drawn by the freerunners’ uninterrupted line across a given environment. The installation at BALTIC 39 will consist of two projections, creating an immersive environment that takes the viewer on a journey where familiar landmarks and obscure corners are re-imagined through a language of gestures and movements.’
